A tragic incident at Miami International Airport has claimed the lives of five airline workers after an Amazon-branded cargo plane overran the runway and struck multiple vehicles on the tarmac.

The deceased have been identified by the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office as Rolando Aleman, 55; Yoel Rodriguez Naranjo, 53; Julio C. Pineda, 75; Carlos Acosta Fajardo, 53; and Javierkys Reyes Quevedo, 47. All five worked for an airline cleaning company contracted to service aircraft at the busy Florida hub.

According to authorities, the cargo aircraft lost control during landing operations, leaving the designated runway and colliding with a company van belonging to the cleaning crew as well as a passenger SUV in the vicinity. The impact proved fatal for the five workers.

The incident marks another sobering reminder of the inherent risks faced by ground personnel at major aviation hubs, where multiple hazards converge during busy flight operations. Airport officials have not yet released details regarding the specific cause of the runway excursion or whether mechanical, weather, or pilot error factors contributed to the accident.

Miami International Airport, one of North America's busiest cargo and passenger hubs, continues normal operations while authorities conduct their investigation. The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
