A man remains in hospital in life-threatening condition following a serious assault in southeast Calgary Wednesday evening, prompting an ongoing police investigation.
Calgary Police Service officers responded to reports of a physical altercation at approximately 9 p.m. in the 2300 block of Crestwood Road S.E. in the Ogden neighbourhood. Upon arrival, they discovered a man in medical distress who was immediately transported to hospital.
According to police officials, the incident is believed to be domestic in nature and investigators are actively searching for suspects connected to the assault.
"There is no threat to the public at this time," Calgary police stated in a Thursday update. "This is believed to be a domestic incident, and police continue to search for the suspects."
The investigation remains active as authorities work to gather additional details about the circumstances surrounding the assault. Police have not released information about the victim's identity or the nature of his injuries beyond confirming his condition remains life-threatening.
