Police say offenders systematically targeted gaming stores, electronics retailers, and liquidation shops throughout Calgary, smashing through front doors and causing significant property damage in the process.

During the break-ins, thieves made off with gaming cards, electronics, knives, and other merchandise. The cumulative damage to storefronts combined with the value of stolen goods added up to roughly $30,000—a substantial hit to businesses already operating in a competitive retail environment.
On February 11, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1400 block of 42 Street N.E., leading to a significant discovery that went well beyond recovered merchandise.
Dangerous Weapons Seized
The search uncovered a cache of weapons and controlled substances. Police confirmed they seized firearms, restricted weapons, ammunition, and drugs allegedly intended for trafficking purposes. Charges and Court Dates
A 38-year-old man faces 49 charges, including hazardous storage of a firearm, possession of restricted weapons, unauthorized firearm possession, possession of controlled substances for trafficking purposes, possession of stolen property, break and enter, disguise with intent, possession of identity documents, and failing to comply with release conditions. He is scheduled to appear in Calgary Court of Queen's Bench on April 17, 2026.
A second suspect, aged 37, has been charged with 18 offences including break and enter, disguise with intent, and breach of undertaking. His court appearance is set for April 13, 2026.
