Missouri State Highway Patrol received the emergency call around 11:30 a.m. local time reporting that an aircraft was down and actively burning. Sergeant Justin Ewing of the Highway Patrol confirmed the devastating toll of the crash and said investigators immediately cordoned off the area as a precaution.
Aircraft Details and Operations
The Federal Aviation Administration identified the downed aircraft as a Pacific Aerospace P750, a single-engine turboprop model manufactured in 2010. The plane is specifically designed for skydiving operations and can accommodate up to 17 sport jumpers at full capacity. These aircraft are also used for cargo transport, aerial surveying, and medical evacuation missions, making them versatile workhorses in general aviation.
According to FAA records, air traffic services were not being provided at the time of the crash. The aircraft had been operating in direct support of skydiving activities through Skydive Kansas City, a recreational skydiving centre serving the region.

The National Transportation Safety Board has assumed lead investigative authority and is actively gathering information about the circumstances surrounding the crash.
