The Calgary Flames will put their perfect four-game homestand on the line tonight when they host the Pacific Division-leading Anaheim Ducks at the Saddledome, with puck drop set for 7 p.m. MT on Sportsnet West.

Despite trading away key players before the deadline, the Flames (30-34-7, 67 points) have found their groove at home, winning four consecutive games to provide a bright spot in what has been a challenging season. The streak includes victories over quality opponents, proving this depleted roster still has fight left.

Ducks Riding High in Pacific Division

Anaheim (40-27-4, 84 points) presents Calgary's biggest test yet during this homestand. The Ducks currently sit atop the Pacific Division, holding a five-point lead over the Edmonton Oilers and riding their own hot streak with a 4-0-1 record in their last five games.

Since the Olympic break, the Ducks have showcased impressive depth with six players recording 10 or more points in 15 games. Leo Carlsson and Chris Kreider lead the charge with 16 points each, while Cutter Gauthier, Jackson Lacombe, Beckett Sennecke, and Alex Killorn have all contributed significantly.

"They're young, fast, talented, and basically what the Flames hope to be when they get to the other side of this whole process," noted hockey analysts following Anaheim's recent surge.

Flames Finding Ways to Win

Calgary's recent success comes despite significant roster turnover. Since the Olympics, three players share the team lead with just eight points each: Morgan Frost, Blake Coleman, and Joel Farabee. While the offensive numbers may seem modest, the Flames have consistently stayed competitive and made life difficult for opponents.

Devin Cooley is projected to start in net for Calgary, backed up by Dustin Wolf. The Flames will be without Sam Honzek, Jake Bean, Jonathan Huberdeau, Yan Kuznetsov, and Connor Zary due to various injuries.

Series History Favours Visitors

This marks the third of four meetings between these teams this season, with Anaheim holding a 2-0 advantage. The Ducks claimed both previous encounters in extra time: a 4-3 overtime victory in Calgary in January and a 3-2 shootout win in Anaheim three weeks ago.

Tonight's game represents the second contest of a three-game road trip for Anaheim, following their victory over Vancouver. The Ducks will conclude their Alberta swing Saturday night against the Oilers in Edmonton.

For Calgary hockey fans looking to follow the action, tonight's broadcast begins at 7 p.m. MT on Sportsnet West and Sportsnet 960 The Fan.
