All too often this year when Edmonton’s been in tight games, and have made many excellent attacking plays, but they also made rancid defensive mistakes that cost them the game. So it was in this match, with Connor McDavid, Evan Bouchard and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins all make key errors and Edmonton simply leaked too many of the most dangerous kinds of shots against once again.
