Calgary police have made a second arrest in a deadly assault that shocked the southeast community of Ogden last month.

Tethloach Wawu, 24, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the fatal altercation. RCMP officers located Wawu in Langley, British Columbia, where he was arrested after he attempted to flee from law enforcement.

The charges come weeks after Calgary police initially responded to a report of a physical fight in progress at a residence in the 2300 block of Crestwood Road S.E. on March 25 at approximately 9 p.m. Officers arrived to find a victim who had suffered fatal injuries.

Wedial Buom Met, 22, was previously charged with one count of second-degree murder in relation to the same incident. Both men are scheduled to appear before a judge as the Crown advances its case.

The arrest marks the culmination of an interprovincial manhunt, with authorities issuing a Canada-wide warrant for Wawu's apprehension. Residents concerned about neighbourhood safety can join local discussions on Calgary Forums to share information and community perspectives on area security.
