Vancouver police are investigating a fatal stabbing that claimed the life of a 36-year-old man early Thursday morning, marking the third homicide in the British Columbia city so far this year.
The victim, identified as Matthew MacFarlane, was attacked near East Hastings Street and Dunlevy Avenue shortly after 12:30 a.m. A witness contacted emergency services immediately, and paramedics transported MacFarlane to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Vancouver Police Department investigators say no arrests have been made in connection with the killing. Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance as the case remains active.
